In doing so we make use of various tools verifying the usability of interfaces on the basis of one list of heuristics or another or yet another; the application of psychological principles to the construction of choices and paths; the application of space organization principles to design, again rooted in psychology and cognitive science, such as Gestalt precepts or F or Z shaped reading patterns .
